In Congress meetings, there is never a talk of violence or hatred. Our workers open shops of love in the market of hatred; they unite the country, spread brotherhood wherever they go. We respect all castes, all religion, all languages.
I came here and first of all, mentioned the senior leaders of our party. In BJP meetings, PM doesn’t mention anybody. The way, I take the names of Siddaramaiah Ji, Shivakumara Ji, Kharge Ji… Modi Ji will never talk of any leader. He doesn’t take the names of Yeddiyurappa Ji or Bommai Ji, as if they don’t exist. Every person of Karnataka is asking – why doesn’t Modi Ji ever take the names of BJP leaders?
This is the constituency of Karnataka’s Home Minister. There was huge corruption in recruitment exam for Police Sub-Inspector. Modi Ji never takes the name of Karnataka’s Home Minister. He talks about only himself… he doesn’t utter a word about what Karnataka Govt. did in the last 3 years.
I ask PM – BJP stole the govt. in Karnataka 3 years ago by harming democracy…. why don’t you talk about its corruption? If you are afraid to take the names of Yeddiyurappa Ji, Bommai Ji, Home Minister of the state… at least, tell us what step did you take to stop this corruption. Contractors’ Association wrote letter to PM telling him about 40% commission in every work, he didn’t even respond.
Modi Ji, also tell people of Karnataka, whether you helped the state or not in the matter of water dispute among Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka. What did you do for Karnataka when floods came? And when Karnataka was being given lesser tax money than what was its due, what did you do for Karnataka?
Modi Ji, the people who do farming here are being denied their lands… what did you do about it? How did you help to revive Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Plant? This election is not about Narendra Modi Ji… it is about the future of children, youths, women of Karnataka. This election is about Karnataka; corruption, price rise and unemployment are the most important issues in it.
BJP has broken the world record in corruption in the last 3 years… it has taken 40% commission for every work in Karnataka. Demonetisation & GST caused huge unemployment in the country…. small & medium businesses have closed down. Farmers are being forced to pay tax for the first time in India’s history – 5% on fertiliser, 12% on tractor parts, 18% on pesticides.
Diesel used to cost Rs. 56 per litre in UPA government, today it costs Rs. 90 per litre; gas cylinder used to cost Rs. 400, now it costs Rs. 1,100; cooking oil was priced at Rs. 60 per litre, now it is priced at Rs. 200 per litre. 1.5 cr people have lost employment, 40 cr Indians have again become poor while 1% richest people in India own 40% wealth of country…. this is the reality of country, reality of Karnataka.
Now, I want to tell what does the Congress plan to do. We started talking to people of Karnataka 1 year ago; we did surveys and asked youths, women what should Congress do. You (people) told us 5 things and we are going to approve these 5 schemes in the first cabinet meeting on the first day.
Women are the worst victim of price rise. We are going to give them ‘Gruha Lakshmi’ in which Rs 2,000 per month will be given to each woman head of family; ‘Gruha Jyothi’ in which 200 units of free electricity will be provided to every household; ‘Anna Bhagya’ in which 10 kg rice will be given to every BPL cardholder; ‘Shakti’ scheme in which women will be provided free travel in govt. transport corporation buses; ‘Yuva Nidhi’ in which Rs. 3,000 a month will be given to unemployed graduates and Rs. 1,500 to unemployed diploma holders.
Congress will bring ‘Krishi Nidhi’ scheme for farmers. Rs. 1.5 lakh crore will be spent on farmer welfare in 5 years; Rs. 30,000 cr will be kept for them every year in the budget. Areca nut and coconut farmers will be given MSP. Subsidy on milk will be increased from Rs. 5 to Rs. 7 per litre. So, we have clearly told what we are going to do.
PM comes here, talks about himself… that Congress has attacked him 91 times. The question is not about the PM, but about the people of Karnataka. Modi Ji, you didn’t talk about corruption… you didn’t talk about the Home Minister or any other issue of Karnataka. At least tell what your govt. is going to do for Karnataka in the next 5 years. Tell that in the last 3 years, we (BJP) took 40% commission and if BJP forms govt. again, it will increase the commission from 40% to 50%.
There is not only Narendra Modi in this world, there are other people as well. Modi Ji, talk about your leaders… talk about Karnataka… talk about youths… talk about women. Ok, talk 70% about yourself… talk at least 30% about Karnataka; we’ll accept it. You talk 70% of the time about yourself…. whatever you want …. attacks by Cong… your friendship with Adani Ji. And then talk 30% of the time about Karnataka’s youths, women, farmers… tell what you are going to do; take the names of Yeddiyurappa Ji, Bommai Ji.
You all know that last time the govt. was stolen. Congress had got maximum no. of MLAs but BJP stole the govt. by giving money. So, it is essential that Cong gets at least 150 seats, otherwise they will again try to steal the govt. and then start taking 50% commission…. they will again start stealing money of farmers, labourers, poor people.
BJP leaders like ‘40’ number very much. They made you remember ‘40’ number in the last 3 years….40% in police stations, 40% in govt offices. Whatever work has to be done… 40% commission. This time give them 40 seats.
Lastly, Bangarappa Ji’s family is here. He was a true leader of poor and backward people. He was a Congress leader. We remember him today.
